Editorial Workflow
The Journal of Robotics and Intelligent Systems follows a structured editorial workflow designed to ensure fairness, efficiency, and scientific quality.
Step 1 – Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the JRIS Online Submission System.
The Editorial Office performs an initial technical screening to verify:
- Completeness of submission
- Compliance with author guidelines
- Scope suitability
- File quality
- Ethical declarations
Step 2 – Editorial Screening
The Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Handling Editor evaluates whether the manuscript is suitable for peer review.
Manuscripts may be rejected at this stage if they:
- Fall outside the journal's scope
- Demonstrate insufficient scientific quality
- Fail to meet ethical standards
- Do not follow submission requirements
Step 3 – Peer Review
Suitable manuscripts are assigned to independent expert reviewers.
JRIS uses a Double-Blind Peer Review process in which:
- Reviewers do not know the authors' identities.
- Authors do not know the reviewers' identities.
Typically, two or more reviewers evaluate each manuscript.
Step 4 – Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer reports, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Authors receive reviewer comments together with the editorial decision.
Step 5 – Revision
Authors revise their manuscripts and submit a detailed response addressing each reviewer comment.
The revised manuscript may undergo additional review if necessary.
Step 6 – Copyediting
Accepted manuscripts undergo:
- Language editing
- Formatting
- Reference verification
- Metadata preparation
Step 7 – Production
Final production includes:
- Typesetting
- Proofreading
- PDF generation
- DOI assignment
- Final author approval
Step 8 – Publication
The final article is published online and becomes permanently accessible through JRIS.
