The Journal of Robotics and Intelligent Systems (JRIS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Birmand Scientific Publishing Ltd. The journal provides a platform for researchers, engineers, scientists, and practitioners to publish original, high-quality research that advances the fields of robotics, intelligent systems, automation, artificial intelligence, and related interdisciplinary technologies.

Peer Review Process

JRIS operates a double-blind peer-review process in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Each manuscript undergoes:

  • Initial editorial assessment
  • Similarity checking
  • Independent peer review by at least two qualified reviewers
  • Editorial evaluation
  • Final editorial decision

Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific quality, originality, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal's scope.


Open Access Policy

JRIS is an open-access journal. All published articles are freely available to readers worldwide immediately upon publication without subscription or access fees.

The journal supports the broad dissemination of scientific knowledge and encourages unrestricted access to published research.


Publication Ethics

JRIS follows internationally recognized principles of publication ethics and research integrity.

Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct throughout the publication process.

Archiving Policy

JRIS is committed to the long-term preservation of published scholarly content.

The journal intends to participate in recognized digital preservation services, including PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or equivalent archival systems as they become available.


Publication Fees

JRIS does not charge manuscript submission or peer-review fees.

The standard Article Processing Charge (APC) is £200 GBP per accepted article. However, the APC is fully waived for all articles accepted for publication in the inaugural issue.

JRIS may extend the full APC waiver to the second issue. Any extension will be announced on the journal website before authors are required to make a payment.

An APC becomes payable only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication. Payment does not influence the editorial or peer-review decision.
