The Journal of Robotics and Intelligent Systems (JRIS) is committed to promoting the broad dissemination, accessibility, and responsible reuse of scholarly research while protecting the intellectual property rights of authors.

Copyright

Authors publishing in JRIS retain the copyright to their work.

By submitting and publishing a manuscript in JRIS, authors grant Birmand Scientific Publishing Ltd. a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to:

  • Publish and distribute the accepted article;
  • Make the article publicly available through the journal website;
  • Archive and preserve the published version;
  • Index and disseminate the article through abstracting and indexing services;
  • Assign and maintain a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where applicable; and
  • Include the article in databases, repositories, and preservation systems.

Authors remain the copyright holders of their published work.


Licensing

Unless otherwise stated, all articles published in JRIS are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

Under this license, anyone may:

  • Read and download the article free of charge;
  • Copy and redistribute the article in any medium or format;
  • Share the article for educational and research purposes;
  • Adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the work;
  • Use the work for commercial and non-commercial purposes;

provided that:

  • Appropriate credit is given to the original author(s);
  • A link to the Creative Commons license is provided;
  • Any modifications made to the original work are clearly indicated; and

Author Rights

Authors retain the right to:

  • Images;
  • Maps;
  • Photographs;
  • Datasets; and
  • Other third-party content,

unless such material is already available under a license permitting its reuse.

Appropriate acknowledgments and citations must accompany all third-party materials.


Self-Archiving Policy

JRIS supports responsible self-archiving.

Authors may deposit:

  • the accepted manuscript; and
  • the final published version,

in institutional repositories, subject repositories, funding agency repositories, and personal or institutional websites, provided that the published source is properly acknowledged and linked where possible.


Reuse of Published Content

Articles published in JRIS may be reused, reproduced, translated, adapted, and redistributed in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license.

Users must:

  • acknowledge the original authors;
  • cite the original publication;
  • identify any modifications made; and
  • comply with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 License.

Corrections and Retractions

The publisher reserves the right to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Such actions will be undertaken in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy and internationally recognized best practices.


Compliance with Funding Requirements

The CC BY 4.0 license adopted by JRIS is compatible with the open-access requirements of many funding agencies and research institutions, facilitating compliance with open-access mandates and supporting the widest possible dissemination and reuse of published research.
